SOV Construction is looking for an Operations Manager who can run our daily field operations : plan the day, dispatch crews to the right sites, stage materials, track what gets done, and push projects to completion. This role is the “engine room” of our construction operations : people + materials + schedule + reporting.
What you’ll do (real day-to-day)
1) Daily planning + crew dispatch
- Dispatch crews : who goes where, what scope they’re doing, priorities, and what “done” looks like
- Split crews based on skill level, job complexity, and deadlines
- Communicate with internal and external Project Managers and Safety Managers
2) Materials + tools coordination
Plan and coordinate material ordering, pickups, and deliveries to job sitesStage and separate materials and tools per crew and per site (daily / weekly)Maintain basic control of equipment usage and availability (rentals, in / out tracking)3) Execution tracking + daily reporting
Confirm daily scope : planned vs. completed (by crew and by site)Collect photos / notes, document issues, and send a daily operations report to managementTrack key operational KPIs (productivity, rework, schedule adherence, crew utilization)4) Project continuity
Solve problems that block production (missing info / materials, site constraints, scope changes, scheduling conflicts)Coordinate with internal stakeholders and customers when needed to keep work moving and expectations clear5) Quality

Proven experience coordinating construction crews / field operations (foreman, dispatcher, site coordinator, superintendent, ops coordinator, etc.)Strong planning and communication skills (you can give clear instructions and hold people accountable)Organized, proactive, and calm under pressure (construction changes daily—this role exists to handle it)Comfortable with tools, job sites, and reading drawings / scope detailsSolid computer skills (Excel / Sheets, email, basic reporting) and ability to learn new systems quicklyValid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites in Greater VancouverNice-to-haves
