We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Arts and Crafts Counselor to join our team at our historic Girls 100 Year Old Camp nestled in the breathtaking Algonquin Park.
This live-on-site position offers a unique opportunity to become a co-counselor for a cabin group while also being an integral part of our dynamic arts staff, teaching a variety of arts areas to eager campers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a co-counselor for a cabin group, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to campers throughout their stay.
- Lead engaging arts and crafts activities, fostering creativity and self-expression among campers of all ages.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to develop and implement exciting arts programming that aligns with the camp’s mission and values.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment where campers feel supported and encouraged to explore their artistic talents.
- Assist in the supervision of campers during meal times, evening activities, and other camp-wide events as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting.
- Strong background in arts and crafts, with the ability to teach a variety of techniques and mediums.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to a dynamic camp environment.
- Current certifications in First Aid and CPR
