We are actively seeking an experienced Warehouse Systems Technical Consultant who’s passionate about delivering world class solutions to address our customers warehousing challenges. This role will report into the Technical Solutions Manager and will work closely with our project managers, developers and service desk team members, require you to be working from customer sites in warehouses at times.

The ideal candidate should be in the GTA, and will be working from home.

On your first day, you should have the following :

Professional

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (internally and externally) to comprehend, propose, educate, and facilitate the implementation of new business processes and systems.
  • Analyse and understand customer needs, formulate solutions, and document them as user stories, use cases, and functional specifications for the delivery team.
  • Perform scope verification and Internal Acceptance Testing before involving the customer in the testing process.
  • Coordinate with customer testing teams to ensure the successful delivery of scoped projects and validate and approve internal test cases.
  • Manage scope changes by engaging with internal and customer stakeholders before incorporating them into the original scope.
  • Define customer acceptance criteria for projects and work-streams.
  • Prepare detailed Requirement Specification documentation, including user stories, PowerPoint presentations, and other materials, for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical

    Databases (SQL)

  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and the ability to perform advanced data manipulation and aggregation.
  • Experience in database design and understanding of schema architecture.
  • Familiarity with SQL optimization techniques to ensure query performance and system scalability.
  • Integrations

  • Profound knowledge of API development and management, including RESTful and SOAP services. Experience with API gateways and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, API Keys).
  • General understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards and protocols, with the ability to implement and maintain EDI transactions and mappings.
  • Familiarity with File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Secure FTP (SFTP), and other file transfer methodologies. Understanding of file transfer security and data encryption practices.
  • Familiarity integrating systems across diverse platforms and environments, including cloud-based and on-premise solutions.
  • Familiarity with XSLT for XML data transformations, enabling the integration and manipulation of data in XML format across different systems.
  • Development

  • Comprehensive understanding of data structures, algorithms, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Strong skills in version control (e.g., Git), debugging, software testing (unit and integration tests), and CI / CD processes. Ability to collaborate effectively, interpret requirements, and transform them into functional software.
  • Problem Solving

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve integration issues, ensuring data consistency and integrity across systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, think analytically, and develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges. Candidates should demonstrate a systematic approach to debugging and must be adept at using logical and creative thinking to overcome obstacles in software development and system integration.
  • Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Previous experience within the Warehousing, distribution and logistics domain is a definite plus.
  • Experience with various delivery methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Systems Consultant in a SaaS WMS, CRM, POS, or ERP product vendor or consultancy environment.
  • Working concessions

  • Whilst the usual work time is during normal business hours Monday through Friday, responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends to meet timelines agreed with the customers at times with little advance notice.
  • Occasional Interstate and international travel might be required on a short notice.
