The successful candidate will be reporting to the Branch Manager (Sudbury branch) and will work full-time on a Glencore site at 1 Longyear Drive Garson, Sudbury, Ontario.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Conduct scheduled mechanical maintenance and inspections for equipment such as man lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, floor sweepers, excavators, and skid steers and rail shunter.
  • Co-ordinate sub-contractors to complete the requirements associated with annual inspections, including but not limited to NDT Technicians, emissions testing, wash bay attendants.
  • Respond to unscheduled mobile maintenance (breakdowns) to start or repair vehicles and equipment that are disabled.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean work vehicle and work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Follow all company and work-site policies and procedures, and governmental and equipment related safety requirements.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Must be a fully licensed Truck and Coach or Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic (310T or 421A license).
  • Must participate in drug and alcohol testing required to enter the work site.
  • Valid G driver’s license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing various construction equipment such as man lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, floor sweepers, excavators, rail shunters and skid steers.
  • Must be available to work on-call as needed.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
