Job description

Olds Regional Exhibition (ORE) has been a cornerstone of Alberta’s agricultural community since its establishment in 1899. Based in Olds, Alberta, ORE is a highly respected non-profit organization dedicated to fostering agricultural excellence, youth development, and rural traditions. The organization manages several premier venues, including the Future Ag Events Centre (Cow Palace)hosting a variety of events such as livestock shows, farmers markets, and community gatherings. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Administrative Assistant role located in Olds, AB. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, including managing communications and correspondence, scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and providing support to executive staff. Additional responsibilities accounts payable and receiveable reporting to external bookkeeper and management , bookings of events and venues, include handling phone inquiries, preparing reports, and assisting in event organization. The role requires consistent collaboration with staff and community members to ensure the smooth operation of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Administrative Assistance and Executive Administrative Assistance tasks, such as managing schedules, organizing documentation, and supporting executive functions
  • Experience with Sage 50 and basic accounting principals
  • Strong skills in Communication and Phone Etiquette for interacting professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Competency in Clerical Skills, including data entry, record-keeping, and report preparation.
  • Extreme attention to detail, ability to multitask, and excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant office software
  • Prior experience in a similar administrative role is preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and interact with community members
