About the Position
The Event Coordinator is responsible for providing operational support to the planning and production of CSAE events, including signature events, leadership / governance events, networking events (both virtual and in-person).
Regular duties include working with internal and external parties such as suppliers, venues, destination organizations, and sponsors.
This role is responsible for executing events that both support and deliver on CSAE’s strategic plan.
Duties and responsibilities
- Planning and execution of events and projects including, logistics (negotiations and contracts regarding venue, A / V, setup), registration, marketing and promotion, and onsite representation when appropriate
- Create and manage individual event budgets within the context of the approved annual budget
- Responsible for executing on sponsor deliverables with meticulous accuracy
- Manage relationships with speakers and other relevant event partners
- Coordinate event marketing activities, including email campaigns, website content creation, in collaboration with internal Marketing & Communications team
- Field inquiries and provide a high level of customer service to event attendees
Qualifications :
- Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in event planning, business, marketing or public relations, administration or similar
- Certified Association Executive designation preferred
- Bilingualism preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in event planning
- Familiarity with event software such as Pheedloop would be an asset
- Strong computer skills, and proficiency with relevant software (Excel, Word, Outlook, calendar software etc.)
- Organized and meticulous with relentless attention to detail; ability to multi-task
- Works well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
- Willing to take responsibility and act independently when necessary
- Team player mindset and willingness to collaborate while working independently and in a remote or virtual environment
Experience with a professional association that works with a broad membership an asset
