Reporting to the Coordinator, Regional Paediatrics &Transport, The Educator and Quality Lead, Regional

Paediatrics and Transport reports directly to the Coordinator,Regional Paediatrics and Transport. Under the

guidance of the Coordinator, the Educator and Quality Lead isresponsible for developing and maintaining the

education curriculum and training in relation to inter facilitytransport. The Educator and Quality Lead is also

responsible for developing and delivering education and supportingvirtual consultation to regional hospitals and

remote communities in NW Ontario.

In collaboration with the Coordinator, the Educator and QualityLead will be responsible for ensuring that all transport

equipment is maintained to standard, and that that all operationalprotocols are kept up to date and followed. The

Educator and Quality Lead will develop and maintain qualityimprovement initiatives including holding run reviews

and facilitating debriefs. The Educator and Quality Lead is alsoresponsible for reviewing data that is submitted to the

provincial transport database and will ensure data quality ismaintained.

The Educator and Quality Lead is a liaison and will be responsiblefor collaborating with provincial hospital based

paediatric and neonatal educators as well as emergency medicalground and air transport educators.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS :

Education / Experience :

  • Unencumbered registration holding a current license with theCollege of Nurses of Ontario
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Masters of Science in Nursing is an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professionaldevelopment in paediatric and neonatal

Skills / Abilities :

  • Current clinical experience in aeromedical transport
  • Current experience in paediatric and neonatal nursing with aminimum of 5 years experience with demonstrated
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Paediatric AdvancedLife Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation

Program (NRP), Emergency Nursing Paediatric Course (ENPC)certification, and certification in stabilization and

pre transport of Neonates (S.T.A.B.L.E or ACoRN) ispreferred

Theoretical and practical experience in adult educationincluding education program planning, development,

delivery, and evaluation

Well developed leadership, communication, teambuilding,negotiating and conflict management skills in order to

influence change and establish and maintain positive relationshipswith staff, patients, families, inter professional

team, and community hospitals and agencies

  • Demonstrated program planning, implementation, and evaluationskills
  • Experience with identifying, disseminating, and implementingevidence informed practice policies and care

practices for the critical care population

Knowledge in computer applications and software (e.g.,GroupWise, Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Excel, Word,

PowerPoint)

Knowledge of data collection, use of databases, data analysis,and evaluation methodology Knowledge of

research process, literature appraisal, and application ofevidence informed knowledge into practice

Knowledge of the philosophy and values of Patient and FamilyCentred Care with demonstrated ability to

incorporate into all aspects of practice, education and teamwork

Valid driver's license

Assets :

  • Membership in RNAO and related professional associations is anasset
  • A clear understanding of the role that operational excellencecan play in supporting the delivery of clinical

excellence of care

High level of initiative and self direction

Salary Range : $47.128 to 55.443
