Summary
Providence Health Care is HIRING a regular full-time Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator for the St. Paul's Hospital Operating Room!
St. Paul's Hospital is a Level 3 Trauma Centre and has 12 Operating Room suites.

Increased capacity is coming to the Surgical Program at the new St. Paul’s Hospital. Operating rooms (ORs) are designed to be modern, flexible, and future-proof to optimize safety and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications / Skills and Education
- Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN registrant.
- Three years of recent related experience in the Operating Room, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to coach and supervise.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
- Ability to identify learning needs and develop educational programs.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of adult education principles.
- Ability to teach and lead groups.
- Ability to deal with and promote change.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator, Operating Room coordinates the day to day operations of the OR and supervises staff:
- Acts as a clinical resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members in the provision of direct care to patients.
- Assists in the promotion of research and quality improvement initiatives within the program.
- Receiving work direction from the Director, Professional Practice & Nursing or designate, the Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator provides visible, accessible clinical support to the nursing staff as an education resource for staff in the clinical areas.
- Develops, implements and evaluates educational programs for nursing staff and patients/families.
- Performs direct nursing care as required.
