Relief Donor Care Officer

Introduction

South African National Blood Service has an opportunity for a Registered Professional Nurse in the blood collection department. The incumbent will be required to relief within the Zone as and when required (sometimes at short notice).

Primary Purpose of the Job

To assess the acceptability of a donor according to a set protocol and perform all procedures including Whole Blood, Autologous / Designate, Double Red Cell, and Apheresis Platelet collections according to Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, ensure collection targets are achieved. These functions are performed routinely.
