About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established public accounting firm in Richmond Hill offering Assurance, Accounting, Tax, and Advisory services to a diverse client base across Canada and the U.S.
As part of continued growth within their Assurance division , they are seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to lead client engagements, support quality initiatives, and mentor high-performing teams.
This role is well suited for a Manager in public accounting who enjoys technical leadership, client interaction, and people development , and is looking for long-term growth within a collaborative firm.
The Role
As Assurance Manager , you will oversee multiple audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with professional standards.
You'll work closely with Partners while maintaining strong ownership of client relationships and supporting firm-wide quality and methodology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple audit and assurance engagements from planning to completion
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm methodology
- Resolve complex accounting and auditing matters
- Review financial statements and assurance deliverables for accuracy and quality
- Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements, deadlines, and budgets
- Mentor and coach junior staff on technical and procedural matters
- Liaise directly with clients to clarify accounting issues and provide engagement updates
- Support the development and improvement of audit tools, templates, and methodologies
- Assist with staff performance evaluations and professional development planning
What Our Client Is Looking For
CPA designation required4–5+ years of relevant public accounting experience1–3 years of experience at the Manager level in public accountingStrong knowledge of Canadian accounting frameworks (IFRS, ASPE, NPO, and / or Public Sector)Excellent client service and relationship-building skillsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skillsExperience with CaseWare (TaxPrep considered an asset)Strong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Why Join Our Client
