Director of Ticket Sales & Business Development

Hours of Work : Full-time, Days, evenings & weekend availability

Company Overview : Members of the Western Hockey League (WHL) since joining the league in 1967-68 season, Brandon Wheat Kings is a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Brandon, Manitoba.

The team has a rich history, winning multiple championships and appearing in the Memorial Cup several times.

Position Description : Reporting to the Governor, the Director of Ticket Sales & Business Development will engage in customer experience initiatives, revenue generation, and strategic directives towards a shared vision.

Responsibilities :

  • Produce revenue for the franchise through customer entertainment experience by way of the sale of season ticket plans, mini packs, flex options, premium seating group plans, and individual tickets.
  • Contact customers primarily through database management, software, outbound phone calls, inbound phone calls, and on-site customer service.
  • Work directly with the box office to ensure business operations initiatives are executed.
  • Manage customer database and create new strategies to develop communication with customers.
  • Develop strategies to improve current ventures and conduct risk assessments, strategic analysis, and initiate new ventures in alignment with BWK strategic direction.
  • Report weekly sales revenue & venture reports to management.
  • Create and implement fan surveys, hosting fan functions, and special events.
  • Perform game day duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a vibrant personality and work ethic.
  • Build and maintain good professional relationships with staff, management, customers, and corporate partners.
  • Adhere to and comply with company, industry, and provincial policies / legislation.
  • Work in collaboration with the business operations, hockey operations division, and J&G Group centralized services team for day-to-day operations.

Education / Skill Requirements :

  • College-level education in sales, marketing, or sports industry preferred.
  • Volume sales experience and database sales management is an asset.
  • Experience with customer relationship software preferred.
  • Sales experience in other business environments is also an asset.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Accountability and ownership for feedback on self-performance from customers and management.
