Commercial Service Technician Apprentice
Hourly Rate : $23.00 – $30.00

The Commercial Service Technician Apprentice is the primary support for commercial / industrial customers, responsible for the service and installation of doors and docks in today’s ever‑changing market. This apprenticeship offers an opportunity to grow with the business and become a master technician.
About the Role
As a Commercial Apprentice, you will learn under the direction of a lead crew member the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial / industrial doors, door opening systems, gate opening systems, and dock leveling systems. You will work in various weather conditions and a dirty, dusty, oily environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the service and installation of various products, including sectional doors, rolling doors, and high‑speed doors.
- Assist with repair and trouble‑shooting defective equipment.
- Assist with maintaining proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
- Assist with accurate timekeeping; detailing job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and completing job assignments in a timely manner.
- Observe the lead technician interacting with customers, end‑users, and general contractors courteously and professionally.
- Apply critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to address diverse door and site requirements.
- Assist with performing routine preventative maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Promote the company’s operational vision, values, and goals.
- Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or his / her designate.
Qualifications
Experience with rolling, high‑speed, and sectional doors preferred; contact us if you have some or most of the above.Electrical experience is a plus.Some travel required (overnight, on‑call).Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record – Class 5.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Ability to handle a physical workload.Proficient with power tools.Independent work capability.Service‑oriented individual with effective written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable working at heights.Adaptability to a changing work environment.Effective interpersonal skills.High school diploma or equivalent.Must pass a background check.Basic math skills.Working Conditions
