Our downtown client, a very successful family-oriented group of companies, are looking for a Payroll Specialist for their well established business. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for three payrolls (240+ employees), two of which are fairly straightforward, but also includes an especially technical federally regulated payroll requiring knowledge of averaging agreements and the ability to deal with / process variable pay as well as the complex issues that arise in relation to federal legislation.

Job Requirements:

The ideal Payroll Specialist will have 3+ years of hands on experience working with a complex payroll (think unionized environment, federal or marine payroll, averaging agreements, etc.) and ideally, have their PCP in hand. You love numbers and you love complex calculations, you love to problem solve and you are resourceful! You aren't looking to manage a team, but you are looking to own your payroll and be a stand out sole contributor who moves seamlessly between HR and finance. You have a customer service orientation and you want to look after your stakeholders and you want to work with a company that appreciates their people and kept every single member of their team employed during an uncertain time during the pandemic.
