Transmission Planning and Interconnection- Power System Studies Engineer

Interested in Power Systems Studies Engineers

Require a bachelor degree and in support of all aspects of transmission studies on power flow, voltage stability, transient stability and other power system analyses. Experience with PSS / E or TARA. Preference will be given to candidates with Ph.D. or Master degree in Power Systems.

How You’ll Help

• Will perform power system analysis for 138 kV and above transmission system, including power flow, voltage stability, transient stability and short circuit analyses.
• Will prepare steady state, short circuit and models.
• Will support senior engineer in preparing technical reports.
• Will offer technical consultations and oversee the process of new generation interconnection requests throughout the planning cycle.
• Will conduct and review system impact studies, analyzing steady-state load flow and transient stability performance, as well as performing reactive planning, Load Interconnection studies, and mitigation planning.
• Will use PSS / e and TARA to conduct voltage ride-through and critical clearing time analysis for generator interconnection studies related to upcoming renewable.

What You Can Expect

The budgeted salary for this position is $110,000-$130,000 CAD. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
