CMM Programmer / Operator

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Duties include inspection of aerospace precision sheet metal and machining details, assemblies and special processes.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

• This position will require working in a team environment with machinists, inspectors, and managers to reduce cost and lead-time by establishing CMM programs that will decrease inspection time and provide accurate measurement results as feedback during the first article process, final AQL inspection, and support of lean manufacturing
• When not programming the CMM this position will require other miscellaneous quality assurance activities such as supporting final inspection, training junior inspectors / programmers etc.
• Program complex parts using CMM with COSMOS software
• Provide assistance to inspectors using the programmable CMM as necessary
• Inspection products using CMM in accordance with our quality system procedures
• Support final inspection with AS9011 reports and or CMM inspections
• Provide customer support when necessary
• Perform inspection of precision parts and assemblies to customer drawings and specifications (using tools such as calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, CMM’s, micrometers)
• Document / discuss unacceptable or inferior quality materials with internal and external parties and take corrective action
• Internal auditing of control plans and process conformance
• All other duties as assigned
