GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Duties include inspection of aerospace precision sheet metal and machining details, assemblies and special processes.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- This position will require working in a team environment with machinists, inspectors, and managers to reduce cost and lead-time by establishing CMM programs that will decrease inspection time and provide accurate measurement results as feedback during the first article process, final AQL inspection, and support of lean manufacturing
- When not programming the CMM this position will require other miscellaneous quality assurance activities such as supporting final inspection, training junior inspectors / programmers etc.
- Program complex parts using CMM with COSMOS software
- Provide assistance to inspectors using the programmable CMM as necessary
- Inspection products using CMM in accordance with our quality system procedures
- Support final inspection with AS9011 reports and or CMM inspections
- Provide customer support when necessary
- Perform inspection of precision parts and assemblies to customer drawings and specifications (using tools such as calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, CMM’s, micrometers)
- Document / discuss unacceptable or inferior quality materials with internal and external parties and take corrective action
- Internal auditing of control plans and process conformance
- All other duties as assigned
DIMENSIONS
Post-secondary education in a related field. Certificate in Quality Assurance / Quality Technician preferred;2+ years comprehensive CMM experience, within the aerospace industry considered an asset;Technical training and proficient with PCDMIS and COSMOS CMM software;Proficient at establishing clear, complete and precise records of inspection;Ability to read blueprint drawings and specifications;Adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience;Well versed in Geometric TolerancesCOMPETENCIES
