Planner/ Scheduler
Reporting to the Lead Scheduler, the Planner / Scheduler will be responsible for providing guidance and support to the pursuit and operations teams in the estimating and planning of various Contracts.
Primary Scope of Role :
- Plan and establish milestones for projects. Review project work activities to ensure support of project milestones.
- Review Contract documents, drawings, specifications and any relevant project documentation applicable to the project scope.
- Work with the Project Team to develop bid & baseline schedules for multi-year projects in Primavera P6, resource loaded at activity level, ensuring constructability & integrity of the project schedule, identifying key project milestones, constraints, stakeholder requirements and any other contractual obligations.
- Regular & ongoing analysis of the critical path with regular engagement with Project Manager to advise on potential impacts, efficiencies and near critical items.
- Conduct weekly and periodic progress meetings with site management to gather information and discuss project progress, deviation and change.
- Highlight both current and prospective delays in progress, assist with mitigation and corrective actions for recovery.
- Work diligently with the Commercial & Engineering team to provide comprehensive schedule inputs / outputs to support the claims management process.
- Gather and interpret project data from both internal and external sources.
- Provide schedule assistance to site / multidisciplinary teams to identify the appropriate period or season to execute works to minimize impact to seasonal and environmental constraints on the project schedule.
- Identify schedule considerations and problems resulting from interdisciplinary or group restraints and interfaces.
- Assist in the monitoring, reviewing, and analysis of the schedule and status during all phases of the project, including the analysis of any schedule deviations and corrective actions.
- Analyze subcontractors' schedules, while forecasting and trending completion target dates to ensure contractor plans are realistic and achievable.
Report deviations accordingly.
- Maintain schedule forecast throughout the project life cycle by verifying schedules are properly updated and linked to the master schedules if prepared by outside parties.
- Monitor and report critical path variances and schedule performance of the total project.
- Assist with project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule and seek the advice of the Project Manager.
- Review or assist in reviewing proposal provisions related to schedule and develop supporting data for contract negotiations.
- Provide the Project Team with timely, informed, and up-to-date project schedule information including trends and forecasts as well as progress, schedule and planning input to the weekly, Bi-weekly and monthly project reports.
Position Requirements :
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Experience in the Transportation / Civil sector required. Experience in roads and bridges would be considered an asset.
- 2-4 years in a Planner / Scheduler role.
- Valid G driver’s license and access to own vehicle.
- Open to travel to job sites throughout the Province of Ontario.
