As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Proficiency in data entry. Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology. Heavy lifting up to 25 lbs, capable of standing or walking for long periods. Able to work with and exposure to chemicals and gloves. Any Canadian equivalency to English 30 or 33 or CLBA score of Benchmark 8 completed within the last six months.
Preferred Qualifications:Anatomic Pathology experience. Experience within the last 2 years preferred. Post secondary Anatomy and/or Pathophysiology courses. Basic LIS and Microsoft computer skills.
