Cloud Security Architect

VStream Labs Inc is seeking a Cloud Security Architect for a contract role focused on developing an RFP and selecting an implementation partner for future Cloud Security / Zero Trust (SASE) services.

This position involves creating cloud security architectures, supporting the implementation of Zero Trust services, and defining other cloud security-related items.

The objective is to improve the cloud security posture of our organization.

Our Cloud Security (SASE) strategy spans multiple years. The first year involves selecting an implementation partner and rolling out foundational SASE services, including SSE.

The Cloud Security Architect may not be involved in the full multi-year implementation but will help shape the requirements for selecting the implementation partner and developing the Cloud Security Architecture.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Cloud Security / Zero Trust RFP and Selection of Implementation Partner :

• Develop requirements for a Cloud Security / Zero Trust Implementation partner to align with the Cloud Security (SASE) Strategy.
• Support the selection process of the Cloud Security / Zero Trust partner based on identified requirements using an RFP process.

2. Develop Cloud Security / Zero Trust Architecture :

Build Cloud Security / Zero Trust Architecture based on organizational requirements and Cloud Security Strategy.

3. Support Implementation of Cloud Security / Zero Trust (SASE) Services :

• Work with the selected implementation partner to procure and support the implementation of Cloud Security / Zero Trust (SASE) Services for the planned project scope, including creating supporting deliverables.
• Plan for the future rollout of additional Cloud Security / Zero Trust (SASE) Services, which may require updates to the strategy and roadmap.
• Define organizational changes required to support Zero Trust and collaborate with change management / communications teams to develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan.

4. Align Strategic Initiatives with Cloud Security / Zero Trust Architecture :

• Provide consulting on solutions.
• Ensure related initiative architectures align with Zero Trust Architecture.

5. Advance Other Cloud Security Items :

Develop strategies for secrets management, Cloud IAM, and Azure Cloud Security Architecture.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT with several years in Cybersecurity roles, specifically with cloud security and platforms like Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, both independently and in team settings.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking about cloud security issues.
• Experience with IT architectural frameworks (TOGAF, COBIT, Zachman, SABSA, etc.).
• Experience with RFI / RFP and TCO.
• Comprehensive understanding of cloud computing principles and architecture.
• Knowledge of encryption techniques, identity management, and access controls specific to cloud environments.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in cloud security, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CSA Cloud Controls Matrix, and CIS Benchmarks.
• Industry-recognized certifications in cloud security and cybersecurity are assets, including CISSP, CCSP, and Microsoft Certified : Azure Security Engineer Associate.
