Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machine Operator with specialized expertise in draping, stitching, and operating a pleating machine to join our dynamic production team.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fabric behavior, an eye for detail, and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.

This role requires precision and creativity to transform raw materials into beautiful, finished products.

Key Responsibilities :

• Operate sewing machines to join, reinforce, decorate, or perform related sewing operations in the manufacture of garment or non-garment products.
• Utilize advanced sewing techniques, including draping and pleating, to meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Read and interpret work orders and pattern instructions to determine layout, construction, and equipment setup.
• Perform basic maintenance on machines, such as threading, needle changing, and oiling, to ensure optimal performance.
• Adjust machine settings for different fabrics, patterns, and stitching requirements.
• Inspect finished products for quality assurance and adherence to customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and perform adjustments or repairs as necessary.
• Collaborate with designers and pattern makers to understand and achieve desired outcomes.
• Keep a clean and organized workspace to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.
• Maintain accurate records of production quantities, materials used, and any issues encountered.
• Stay updated on the latest sewing techniques and machinery advancements to continually improve skills and efficiency.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in textile technology, fashion design, or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Sewing Machine Operator with specialized skills in draping, stitching, and pleating.
• Proficiency in operating various types of sewing machines (e.g., lockstitch, overlock, coverstitch) and pleating equipment.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, patterns, and garment construction.
• Ability to read and follow complex instructions and diagrams.
• Keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet production deadlines.
• Physical stamina and the ability to maintain concentration for extended periods.

Working Conditions :

• This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may involve extended periods of standing or sitting.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and perform repetitive movements.

Pay Rate : $17 - $20

Hours :

Full-time. 40 hours per week.

Schedule :

Monday to Friday 7 : 00 am 3 : 30 pm
