Our client financial services company headquartered in Toronto is actively seeking to hire a contract Bilingual Senior Project Manager - Spanish / English .

This is a hybrid role that is 3 days remote and 2 days / onsite. They are open to considering a fulltime resource

What you will do

  • Work closely with project sponsors, program managers, third-party vendors, application owners and other project managers to translate business case, strategy and objectives into approved project plans.
  • Manage project financials. Create resource plans consisting of BAs, Solution Designers, Development, QA and Operations to support project delivery and execution.
  • Proactively manage issues that will take projects off schedule by identifying solution and getting stakeholder buy-in. Manage key risks and dependencies by implementing mitigation strategies;

escalate issues and risks as appropriate.

  • Communicate project status and progress to help internal and external partners make informed decisions.
  • Lead teams of internal & external stakeholders and technology partners in early seed phase to perform analysis and research to determine viability of the initiative before completing a full business case.
  • Define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities and ensuring all project team members are working towards established milestones.
  • Familiarity with the complexity of Banking IT ecosystems and architecture. A strong curiosity and desire to learn about new technology in the financial and retail banking space.
  • Prepare and chair steering committees, providing regular status updates. Report to senior management on status, financials, risks and issues of projects, gaining consensus on direction to successfully deliver projects
  • Ensure that appropriate communication is enabled with technology and business partners as well as external organizations to continually review, monitor and proactively manage project progress

What you will bring

  • You can demonstrate experience through 6-8+ years progressive experience in Technical Project Management ideally within the banking industry.
  • You have experience managing complex technical projects in a matrix environment and completed projects through full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Requirements and Design, Quality Assurance, Implementation and Release Management
  • You have a degree / diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, and / or a related field of study. PMP Certification is a nice-to-have.
  • You embrace and champion change. You'll continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work with competing priorities
  • Stakeholders can be difficult sometimes, candidate has to manage their expectations
  • Ability to understand product and business priorities and translate them to the technology delivery team
  • Ability to represent Business in Technology discussions and represent Technology in discussions with Business
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery
  • Experience in transforming a team from waterfall / quasi- agile to agile delivery
  • Strong financial management track project finances month to month, reconcile actuals each month and re-baseline forecasts after actuals come in
  • Strong delivery expertise understand SDLC and ability to build a realistic project timelines and deliver accurately against it
