Controller – JBS Equipment

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our growing team and contribute to a dynamic operation.

Base pay range : CA$100,000.00 / yr – CA$130,000.00 / yr. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee daily operations within the finance and accounting department.
• Direct and coordinate financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting with the executive team.
• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and prepare detailed management reporting.
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Prepare financial analysis to support contract negotiations, product investment decisions, capital planning, and profitability improvement.
• Direct internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and implementing recommendations for procedural and control improvements.
• Manage and monitor foreign currency trading and related risk exposure.
• Oversee job costing, support profitability analysis, and provide recommendations on product selling costs.
• Prepare compliance reports required by financial institutions and external stakeholders, ensuring timely submission.
• Monitor and manage debt levels, banking relationships, and compliance with lending covenants.
• Prepare all required documentation for the company’s annual SRED (Scientific Research & Experimental Development) claim.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including WCB, GST, PST, CRA, audits, and filings.
• Direct and coordinate debt financing activities and debt service payments with lenders and external agencies.
• Improve and optimize departmental and organizational financial processes, policies, and systems to support operational goals.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the finance team.
