The Job :
As a Heavy Duty Technician, you will :
- Safely operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain company-owned heavy-duty diesel and alternative fuel trucks and equipment.
- Ensure the safe operation of rolling stock to support waste removal and environmental services provided by our drivers.
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair operational difficulties, and complete administrative duties.
- Plan and schedule repairs, review mechanical write-ups, and assist in coordinating repair schedules.
- Respond to service calls and emergent situations in the field.
What’s Required :
Heavy Duty Technicians should :
- Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Be computer literate, trainable on software systems, and willing to learn.
- Meet safety-sensitive function criteria according to company standards.
- Have the ability to use diagnostic software (a plus).
- Follow detailed instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate records.
- Operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Possess the physical ability to perform all aspects of the job.
