Job opportunitiesWelder III (Afternoon Shift)ShareJob DescriptionLift, assemble and tack joist pieces at the jig.Read and interpret shop drawings as required.

Help set up the jig as required.Keep work area clean and follow 5S standards.Comply with health and safety policies and procedures.

Perform all other duties as assigned.Willingness to go to Day shift if needed.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to produce clean, accurate welds and to pass CWB welding test(s).Ability to regularly push / pull / lift up to 50 pounds, ability to stand continuously, and hold a welding gun.

Welding experience or training in a manufacturing environment preferred.Ability to communicate, read and write in English is a must.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and operating policies, procedures and instruction.Ability to work safely and maintain production demands.

Willingness to engage in training as required, and to work overtime, including weekends.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must always be worn (including but not limited to : metatarsal safety boots, safety glasses, welding helmet, welding gloves / sleeves, ear plugs and respiratory protection).

Position will require the ability to produce welds which meet company quality standards, the ability to lift parts as needed and the ability to work at a pace established by production standards.

Additional InformationA Canadian company in business for over 60 years!Pay range $26.37 to $29.34 / h (based on experience) + current shift premium of $1.

Physical DemandsThe ability to stand continuously is essential with frequent walking and occasional sitting. The nature of the position will require the employee to perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (60-100 lbs.

to climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Work EnvironmentRequired to work near moving mechanical parts and machinery. Working conditions may include being outside or inside in all environmental conditions.

Potential exposure to : fumes and airborne particulates. Potential risk of electric shock. Potential burn hazards such as : UV light radiation, open flames, sparks and other sources.

Noise levels in the work environment will require the use of appropriate hearing protection at all times. The correct usage of PPE will be required at all times.
