Carpenters (Drywalling Experience)
Unlock your potential in carpentry and drywall craftsmanship with us! THE JOB The Carpenter is tasked with the construction, installation, and renovation of wooden and other material structures, including various residential construction duties for renovation and new projects.
This role demands proficient knowledge of construction tools, materials, and techniques, with a strong emphasis on safety and attention to detail.
Carpenters must possess physical strength, coordination, and endurance for lifting heavy objects and enduring long periods of physical activity.
They work in diverse environments, often outdoors and sometimes in adverse weather conditions. Responsibilities include following management instructions, interpreting blueprints, adhering to building codes, participating in various carpentry activities, analyzing work sites, selecting materials, operating tools safely, and executing tasks efficiently with high-quality standards. - $18 - $24 an hour based on experience
- Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm
- Weekly pay through direct deposit.
REQUIREMENTS Applicants for the Carpenter position must possess a valid NS Class 5 license, a clean driver's abstract, and a clear criminal record check.
While Fall Arrest and First Aid certifications are not mandatory, they are considered advantageous. Role-specific safety requirements include the ability to independently lift 50 pounds and fluency in spoken and written English for effective communication on-site.
Adherence to all federal, provincial, local, and company health and safety regulations is paramount, with immediate reporting of hazards.
Maintenance of company vehicles and equipment, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area, are essential responsibilities.
Additionally, proper disposal of debris and hazardous materials is required. PPE requirements include CSA-approved steel-toed boots above the ankle, with other PPE provided as necessary.
