Overview

Irving Shipbuilding is one of the most modern shipyards in North America, defined by its pace and appetite for change. We are building more than 20 Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships and River‑Class Destroyers as part of the largest and most complex shipbuilding initiative in Canadian history. As a key member of the IT team, you will directly impact the design and enhancements that ensure the digital experience exceeds enterprise expectations. You will ensure that network operations are efficient and secure by supporting and maintaining the lifecycle of network services and solutions. This position requires full‑time on‑site presence.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to the networking component of the J.D. Irving Limited infrastructure
• Act as an escalation point to manage all required vendor and external technical resources to effectively troubleshoot issues
• Provide subject matter expertise as the networking resource on a wide variety of internal and customer‑facing technology projects, supporting organizational standards
• Optimize existing systems related to performance and capacity and identify opportunities for improvement
• Research, understand and implement security protocols
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedure documentation for all networking solutions
• Lead and oversee day‑to‑day networking activities and contribute to long‑term operational planning and activities
• Participate in the on‑call rotation for production support
• Manage activities related to tools and technologies such as Cisco Prime, Cisco Identity Services Engine, Junos Space, OpManager, A10 and Netscaler load‑balancing technologies
