About the Role
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support the use of data analytics across the organization. The BI Analyst will acquire and analyze data from various sources, understand key performance indicators (KPI) and how they are used for business and analysis purposes, support the development of dashboards and interactive reporting tools, and provide data-driven, actionable recommendations.
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will :
- Conducts data cleaning, transformation, exploration, analysis, and visualization.
- Works with spreadsheets and databases, including using programming languages such as R or Python to extract, transform and load data from multiple sources.
- Provides quality assurance of all data and BI outputs.
- Responds to ad-hoc data and reporting requests.
- Translates data into insights and recommendations.
- Collaborates with business and clinical teams to understand their data needs and requirements.
- Defines and recommends metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support department / program goals; identifies industry benchmarks and trends.
- Provides recommendations on industry best practices in BI and innovative BI software / tools.
- Supports the development of interactive dashboards, Geographic Information System (GIS) maps, reports, and data visualizations for monitoring performance and quality across the organization.
- Train other team members to support the use of data analytics tools.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and / or experience in data analytics.Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and / or Tableau.Ability to analyze, understand, and interpret business requirements.Ability to communicate and collaborate with teams / individuals in a wide variety of areas and at various levels of the organization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python.Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or related field.Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredConditions of Employment
