About the Role : Fitzrovia is seeking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures superior customer satisfaction by planning, scheduling and executing all maintenance, cleaning and building operation activities.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all move-in, turnover and occupied suite preparation, repair and replacement.

The Maintenance Supervisor imparts a strong sense of pride while ensuring our properties are safe, pristine and maintained to the highest of standards.

  • Key Responsibilities : Establishes and maintains excellent relationships while working closely with residents, staff, customers and contractorsConsults with staff and provides technical guidance, recommendations, and assistance in the analysis of building system problems;
  • contributes to the development of options and recommends solutionsEnsures all aspects of the building operations including but not limited to HVAC, mechanical, life safety, operating systems, plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, painting, snow removal, pool maintenance, and equipment are operated in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable codes and regulationsCompletes all resident service requests in an efficient and timely mannerResponds to emergencies on a 24-hour basis, on a rotation;

performs on-call emergency procedures as requiredPrepares suites as required, which may include painting, cleaning, general repair and housekeeping to ensure a quality product to our residentsMaintains grounds, pools, common areas, and pet spaces to keep them clean, free of trash, debris, and other safety issuesReports any maintenance issues that affect the budget such as life safety, building operations service, vacant repairs, property damage, and common area needs to the managerResponsible for the planning, execution and documentation of all prescribed preventative maintenance tasksComplies with company policies and procedures at all times and ensures building standards and efficiencies are maintainedEnsures compliance with applicable legislation such as the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Canadian Standards Association, Technical Standards Association, and Electrical Safety Authority · Attends and participates in training programs as required by Fitzrovia and local city and provincial jurisdictionsProvides superior customer service and consistently maintains a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers and the general publicMaintains and safeguards all company tools and equipmentQualifications and Experiences : High school diploma or equivalent required3 - 4 years of experience in commercial or residential building operations1- 2 years of supervisory experience requiredBuilding Environmental Systems (BES) Operator Class 1 and 2 an assetPrevious experience in construction, HVAC & plumbing preferredKnowledge of computerized maintenance programs (CMMS) preferredDemonstrated ability to perform building repairs and knowledge of constructionKnowledge of Ontario Fire Code, Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation including Confined space entry procedures and relevant testing equipmentExemplary verbal and written communications skillsAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectivelyComputer literacy and MS Office computer skillsKnowledge of all facets of building operations and maintenanceMust be able to work any shift Sunday-Saturday to support the company’s business needsWhy Fitzrovia : Fitzrovia is a vertically integrated development and asset manager focused on Class-A and vintage-style apartment buildings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Montreal.
