The Role
The Systems team is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting the technology infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to storage, networking, workstations, and rendering. It also includes the various software elements around both the core operating system(s) and the various application layer components that are deployed upon that framework.
As part of the Systems Canada L2 team, you will support and mentor the Systems Canada L1 team. You are encouraged to propose and work on (and sometimes lead) projects that will advance the technology framework. This includes elements of project management, communication across other departments, and influence / lead the delegation of tasks / manage and coordination of schedules.

You will :
Ensure systems run reliably and respond to service outages or other complex systems-related problems
Design and implement complex systems
Optimise systems performance
Support on-premise and remote systems
Actively mentor and assist in the technical development of the L1 team
Partake in an on-call rotation, providing out-of-hours support in case of a show-stopping issue
You have :
A high-functioning experience in Linux RedHat OS for workstations and Servers
Storage experience : Raid levels, fiber channel, SAS
Strong scripting (Shell, Python or Perl)
A pragmatic approach to project delivery, training, and documentation on Jira / Confluence
Strong self-guided problem-solving skills
Good communication skills with various stakeholders
You may have :
Experience with source control such Gitlab, Perforce, or others
Support storage solutions
Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, puppet or Terraform
Support or design LAN / WAN
Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Google and Azure.
Experience with Virtualization such as VMware and Proxmox
Experience with Windows server, LDAP and Active Directory management
Experience with VDI solutions
Familiarity with VFX post-production concepts and software like Maya, Nuke, and Houdini
