Cobol Consultant

Global Financial Firm located in Mississauga, ON has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced COBOL Consultant

This role is currently on a Hybrid Schedule.

You will need to have reliable internet, computer and android or iphone for remote access into the client systems during remote work.

We will be expected in the office weekly 2-3 days depending on the team requirement.

Video / f2f interviews are required prior to all offers.

Job Description -

Minimum 5 years years experience in Mainframe Application / COBOL / CICS / DB2 / VSAM / MQ development, experience in banking or securities brokerage a plus

Responsibilities :

Application development from Technical Specifications

Ability for independent analysis on assigned functions

Business Analysis to meet with users and document requirements

Clear communication and presentation skills

Skill Sets Required :

Technical Skills

Programming Languages : COBOL, JCL,

Database : DB2, VSAM, SQL, Oracle

Version control : Change man, Udeploy

Operating Systems : Z / OS, Unix, Linux, Windows

Tools and utilities : CICS, TSO, ISPF, File Aid, File Manager, Connect Direct (NDM), SFTP, MQ

Other Tools : JIRA, Confluence, Service Noa

SDLC methodologies : Agile, Waterfall

Additionally one or more of the following is a definite huge plus :

Bit bucket, JavaScript, HTML, ASP.net, Hibernate, Cognos, Maven, Ant, Git, CA Easytrieve, Python
