Yard Controller

Position Overview This position will be part of the Distribution Centre and Transportation team which has responsibility for the processing of inbound and outbound shipments across the country. The Yard Controller will report to the Assistant Manager, Yard Operations and work closely with both our Transportation team and our Distribution team to ensure product flows efficiently in and out of the Distribution Centre, off-site yards and the main yard.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal and external pool of trailers in the yard using Zebra Yard Management System to ensure the yard operates at full efficiency
• Manage third party on-site shunting service (shunter start / end times, lunches)
• Administer Dangerous Goods Placards (application and removal after receiving information from dispatch emails or shunters)
• Daily reports and problem solving : Yard checks, Not Assigned Trailers rectification, and trailer summary per carrier.
