Job DescriptionAs our new Senior Environmental Manager Team Lead , you will lead our Vancouver office, manage a group of experienced and motivated multi-disciplinary professionals, and assist us in business development and proposal initiatives in Western Canada.

Your success in this role will depend on your excellent technical knowledge, client service and people skills, and the ability to leverage your centers of influence to strategically grow our operations.

You’ll be responsible for providing expertise in areas including environmental site assessments, remediation, contamination hydrogeology, and a range of responsibilities from managing colleagues to overseeing interdisciplinary projects.

In addition, you will also have significant experience working with clients to develop technical scopes of work, proposal preparation, and the successful management and delivery of complex projects.

Knowledge of a wide range of business sectors will be a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities You will also :

  • Prepare and review technical correspondence, reports, work plans, and project specifications
  • Oversee financial performance, strategic hire recruitment and retention, coaching, health and safety leadership
  • Mentor junior and intermediate staff, providing guidance and assisting in their development
  • Drive client focus, marketing and business development to support the region's growth strategy
  • Manage overall project / program budgets and schedules, client satisfaction / expectations and internal and contract requirements
  • Provide technical advice, support and review for site investigation and remediation through all phases of assessment and remediation from preliminary screening through remedial investigation, feasibility studies, remedial design, remedial action and construction oversight
  • Contribute industry expertise in relation to provincial and territorial codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm including senior managers, technical discipline and business sector leaders, and operations managers in a one-team approach
  • Lead and support business development and proposal initiatives in Western Canada and elsewhere to achieve business development and strategic goals

  • The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Final agreed-upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a strong technical background in environmental site assessments, remediation, or contamination hydrogeology
  • Experience managing a team of multi-disciplinary professionals in a consulting environment
  • Extensive project / sector management experience involving comprehensive management of multiple projects from beginning to end
  • Working knowledge of provincial, local and industry specific regulations and guidelines
  • Experience and proven success in business development, client management and preparation of proposals
  • Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist with undergraduate degree in engineering or geosciences - Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Professional status or eligibility for professional status in BC additional credentials in other provinces is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites / clients
