Technical Specialist - Exterior
The Technical Specialist is responsible for ensuring the standardization and communication of all Plasman technical aspects amongst the design team, engineering team & related manufacturing disciplines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Lead research, creation, and development of manufacturing & design best practices.Be the champion for design lessons learned ensuring read across over all Plasman OEM platforms.Consolidation of lessons learned and manufacturing BPs into core commodity best practices.Resource for advanced design & engineering troubleshooting by way of design surrogate management.Plasman system management for the design group, ensuring compliance with all Plasman accreditations working with the Design Manager.Lead cross functional design reviews.Complete benchmarking studies on competing products. Present key benchmark findings to stakeholders and aid in development & implementation into new designs.Aid in CAD data management by training new Plasman team members including but not limited to advanced engineering, design & program management.Mentor and train new design & engineering members on Plasman design & engineering methodology.Develop and present technical design and engineering capabilities for new customer onboarding.Ensure integration of design / engineering principles / executions with manufacturing disciplines.Lead technical root cause analysis & integrate program team support for issue escalation and resolution.Complete part designs and / or engineering change proposals as required.Ensure personal awareness and understanding of ISO / IATF (includes ISO ) Standards, and company policies and procedures.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent.Recognized Engineering Technical Diploma in related area.Certification in Program Management will be considered an asset.10+ years experience within automotive engineering field.10+ years experience with Catia and / or NX software. Experience with additional 3D modeling software is considered an asset.Have an excellent working knowledge of injection mold tooling, plastics joining methods such as sonic welding, vibration welding & screw assembly.Have an excellent working knowledge of automotive exterior plastics.OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
