As the Director - Corporate Accounting and Financial Controls, you will be responsible of overseeing and analyzing the consolidation of the group’s financial statements as well as complex accounting matters, providing accounting support to various finance sectors, leading and contributing to ad hoc projects, supervising the preparation of audit materials, and ensuring compliance with Canadian GAAP requirements.
What does your typical day look like?
- Lead the preparation of monthly and annual consolidated results (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flows, allocations, and intercompany transactions).
- Coordinate the financial statements of the group and its subsidiaries (20+), working with external auditors for year-end audits.
- Support the subsidiaries’ accounting teams during the preparation of monthly and annual consolidated results.
- Participate in presenting the consolidated financial statements to the Chief Financial Officer and the Vice President - Corporate Finance.
- Actively participate in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation within the group.
- Take part in maintaining the integrity of the consolidation system, chart of accounts, and other work files.
- Create, apply, and regularly update a centralized record of all accounting policies used by the group.
- Provide interpretation and guidance on complex accounting matters in accordance with Canadian GAAP and the company’s financial policies.
- Participate in projects and assignments as needed.

What skills and experience are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA designation
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Corporate Accounting
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in auditing
- Bilingual French and English (verbal and written)
- Excellent understanding of Canadian GAAP, American GAAP and other emerging standards
- Experience working for an international company with major transactions
- Ability to present financial data in a meaningful and practical way to main decision-makers
- Good knowledge of accounting and financial controls
- General understanding of corporate taxation and Canadian transfer pricing rules
