Labour Relations Specialist
Our client, a provider of distribution and warehousing in the automotive sector is seeking a Labour Relations specialist to join the team.
Direct Responsibilities :
- Manage and maintain systems and records related to labour relations.
- Manage the relationship between the Company, its employees, and the union, ensuring the organization is in full compliance with all relevant legislation (i.
e., Human Rights, Employment Equity, Occupational Health and Safety, as well as Employment and Labour Legislation) and Company policies.
- Respond to all issues and inquiries relating to labour relations within the legislated time period.
- Participate in and encourage creative conflict resolution strategies.
- Mediate labour disputes, grievances, and arbitration processes as necessary in accordance with both legislative requirements and Company policies.
- Identify, recommend, and prepare any required employee training.
Qualifications :
- Post-Secondary Education in Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Commerce, Human Resources or other related field.
- 5 years of experience in a unionized environment.
- Experience in Collective Bargaining and managing the administration of Collective Agreements within a unionized environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written and listening).
- Strong analytical and dispute resolution capabilities.
- Ability to develop and manage solid working relationships.
Location : Durham, Ontario
Work Model : In-office, Monday through Friday (flexible outside of working hours)
Salary : $97,500
