The Business Development Manager serves as a senior strategic leader aligned to East Canada region including Nova Scotia, New Foundland & Labrador, New Brunswick, Quebec, and PEI provinces. This role focuses on building customer relationships, driving regional strategy execution, and serving as Siemens Energy’s representative across the portfolio.
The Business Development Manager will lead strategic conversations with major customers, act as a key liaison with government entities and industry stakeholders to anticipate regulatory changes, advocate for Siemens Energy’s interests while ensuring alignment with the Business Areas.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Strategic Customer Engagement & Portfolio Representation: Represent Siemens Energy across the region by leading strategic customer discussions, advising on market and regulatory trends, resolving escalated issues, and driving growth initiatives across sectors such as wind, private equity, EPCs, and emerging opportunities.
- Market Intelligence & Advocacy: track regulatory developments, advise leadership on market shifts affecting customer behavior and revenues, and advocate Siemens Energy’s position in key forums.
- Regional Leadership: lead recurring regional meetings to facilitate the sharing of market insights, strategic topics, and best practices among sales managers, while also developing major customer account plans informed by input from Business Area Sales teams.
- Government Affairs Interface: serve as the main link to local government affairs, representing Siemens Energy’s interests and building strong relationships with state and local offices to support strategic objectives.
- External Representation: represent Siemens Energy at key regional events to strengthen brand visibility and position the company for success in strategic forums.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment across Business Areas sales aligned to specific geography that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring consistent execution of account plans and country strategies.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field; master’s preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in energy markets, regulatory engagement, or strategic business development.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration across business units.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving and presentation and influencing skills
- 30% travel
