Results-oriented and accountable Positive and supportive towards clients Advocates for the trucking industry with a growth mindset Effective decision-makers Load freight - lift requirement : 80 lbs Unload freight - lift requirement : 80 lbs Move freight - force requirement : 54 lbs Hook / Unhook trailer - force requirement : 90 lbs Tarp, strap, and chain loads on a regular basis – force requirement : 100 lbs Perform and complete thorough pre and post trip inspections Drive upwards of 60 hours and 3000 miles on a weekly basis Predictable attendance Able and willing to travel to and from the US on a weekly basis Submit random drug and alcohol test Comfortable being remote monitored while on-duty Utilize WhatsApp for communication with dispatch Utilize GoMotive for tracking and completing driver logs and inspections Manage the pressure of strict pickup and delivery schedules and procedures Diagnose and report basic mechanical issues Complete 36-hour resets at remote locations Work weekends Wait 1-2 days for backhauls Adhere to all company policies Striving to ensure the safety of all individuals that might be affected by your actions while on the job Act with professionalism at all times Transparency and honesty to management in all matters concerning the company Provide exceptional customer service to shippers and receivers Support the maintenance of the tractor and trailer unit (basic to moderate repairs) Policy development Load procurement Work in harsh weather conditions (ex. heavy rain, heavy snow, Must be between 23 and 70 years old Must be able to travel to and from the Edmonton Area on a regular basis Must have an Alberta Commercial Driver Abstract not more than 6 months old Must have Class 1 License for a minimum of 3 years, manual transmission preferred Must have a minimum of 3 years Commercial Truck Driving experience in Canada a / o U.S.A No more than 2 minor violations (15 mph or greater, following too close, improper passing, defective brakes, defective equipment, oversize) in the last 3 years No more than 1 chargeable accident in the last 3 years No major violations (DUI, homicide, felony, racing, hit and run, reckless driving, suspension, fleeing arrest, accident other than ppv) in last 5 years Experience with flat deck a / o step deck (preferred) Experience with tarping (preferred) Experience with strapping loads (preferred) Experience with chaining loads (preferred) Experience with GoMotive (preferred) Experience with WhatsApp (preferred) Experience with heavy machinery repair (preferred) Access to a personal vehicle Must possess a Canadian Passport or US Work Visa (B-1 a / o B-2) Not a smoker Must pass a Police Check and Vulnerability Sector Check Must pass a Drug and Alcohol Check Provide an Alberta Commercial Driver Abstract not more than 6 months old during interview process Complete a CEFR (English language proficiency) test if not a Canadian Citizen Provide 2 professional references Opportunities to work with a friendly and tightly knit team with diverse backgrounds. - Type : Full time, on call, 55+ hours weekly, 10-hour shifts
- Pay : $0.50 - $0.70 per mile + bonus
- Term : 1 year with possible extension
- Location : Based out of Edmonton, AB with weekly trips to and from the US
- Start : ASAP
