- Position : Class 1 Commercial Driver
- Type : Full time, on call, 55+ hours weekly, 10-hour shifts
- Pay : $0.50 - $0.70 per mile + bonus
- Term : 1 year with possible extension
- Location : Based out of Edmonton, AB with weekly trips to and from the US
- Start : ASAP

Load freight - lift requirement : 80 lbsUnload freight - lift requirement : 80 lbsMove freight - force requirement : 54 lbsHook / Unhook trailer - force requirement : 90 lbsTarp, strap, and chain loads on a regular basis – force requirement : 100 lbsPerform and complete thorough pre and post trip inspectionsDrive upwards of 60 hours and 3000 miles on a weekly basisPredictable attendanceAble and willing to travel to and from the US on a weekly basisSubmit random drug and alcohol testComfortable being remote monitored while on-dutyUtilize WhatsApp for communication with dispatchUtilize GoMotive for tracking and completing driver logs and inspectionsManage the pressure of strict pickup and delivery schedules and proceduresDiagnose and report basic mechanical issuesComplete 36-hour resets at remote locationsWork weekendsWait 1-2 days for backhaulsAdhere to all company policiesStriving to ensure the safety of all individuals that might be affected by your actions while on the jobAct with professionalism at all timesTransparency and honesty to management in all matters concerning the companyProvide exceptional customer service to shippers and receiversOther Responsibilities may include :
Support the maintenance of the tractor and trailer unit (basic to moderate repairs)Policy developmentLoad procurementWork in harsh weather conditions (ex. heavy rain, heavy snow,25°ree;C)
Qualifications
Must be between 23 and 70 years oldMust be able to travel to and from the Edmonton Area on a regular basisMust have an Alberta Commercial Driver Abstract not more than 6 months oldMust have Class 1 License for a minimum of 3 years, manual transmission preferredMust have a minimum of 3 years Commercial Truck Driving experience in Canada a / o U.S.ANo more than 2 minor violations (15 mph or greater, following too close, improper passing, defective brakes, defective equipment, oversize) in the last 3 yearsNo more than 1 chargeable accident in the last 3 yearsNo major violations (DUI, homicide, felony, racing, hit and run, reckless driving, suspension, fleeing arrest, accident other than ppv) in last 5 yearsExperience with flat deck a / o step deck (preferred)Experience with tarping (preferred)Experience with strapping loads (preferred)Experience with chaining loads (preferred)Experience with GoMotive (preferred)Experience with WhatsApp (preferred)Experience with heavy machinery repair (preferred)Requirements
Access to a personal vehicleMust possess a Canadian Passport or US Work Visa (B-1 a / o B-2)Not a smokerMust pass a Police Check and Vulnerability Sector CheckMust pass a Drug and Alcohol CheckProvide an Alberta Commercial Driver Abstract not more than 6 months old during interview processComplete a CEFR (English language proficiency) test if not a Canadian CitizenProvide 2 professional referencesWhy Join Us?
