Job Summary :
Install electrical control systems in new and existing buildings including retro fit projects in a construction environment. Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environments, hazardous materials, moderate physical duties and working at heights.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations
- Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
- Pull wire through conduits and ceiling spaces
- Install, replace and repair electrical control equipment such as relays, temperature sensors, actuators and panels
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems, remove and replace faulty components
- Splice, join and connect wire to components to form complete control systems
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation / regulations
- Participate in out-of-town projects and be available for after-hours work as required
Qualifications
Main skill required, indentured apprenticeship in Manitoba (1st & 2nd Year) with conduit experienceHigh School degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified collegeKnowledge of electrical theory and terminologyExperience with HVAC, building electrical systems and VFDs an assetAbility to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematicsExcellent command of the English Language, both written and oralStrong attention to detail, ability to execute precision workCommercial / Construction installations experienceClass 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstractWe welcome and encourage applications from candidates with Métis status as part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
