We are currently seeking a Human Resources Superintendent to join our clients Miramichi Team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the incumbent will primarily be responsible for managing and performing the day-to-day operations of the HR services. What we offer

What you bring
- Work closely with other departments to ensure safety and environment is at the forefront.
- Manage and deliver the full spectrum of HR activities such as recruiting, hiring, employee relations, health and safety, policy development, performance management, compensation, development and implementation of employee programs and services, succession planning, etc.
- Develop strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals.
- Participate in site and workplace inspections.
- Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development.
- Ensure compliance with various Acts (Employment Standards, Human Rights, OHS, etc.).
- Oversee personnel management, including wage increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies.
- Participate in collective bargaining and address employee relations and organizational development concerns including the grievance process.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and HR developments including best practices.
- Provide consultation / coaching to Managers and employees.
- Develop and provide training as needed.
- Partner with other managers on business development and strategies.
- Undertake any additional tasks as requested by the General Manager.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Progressive HR experience including experience in multiple areas of HR such as Recruitment and Retention, Environment, Health and Safety, Compensation and Benefits, Succession Planning, Training and Organizational Development, etc.
- Knowledge of relevant workplace legislations.
- Effective, clear, and precise communication skills both written, verbal and for presentations Proficiency in French is an asset.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, facilitation, decision making skills.
- Strong influencing skills to advise and partner with individuals at all levels in the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, ever-changing environment.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is preferred.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
