Our team is growing and we’re looking for a civil engineer with a passion for preserving architectural heritage, who enjoys working on challenging, rewarding projects that contribute to the conservation of cultural heritage. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborating closely with architects, historic building experts and other industry professionals.

Our hybrid work mode allows you to telecommute, work on-site at the office, or combine the two.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out structural assessments and analyses of heritage buildings.
  • Design restoration and rehabilitation plans taking into account historical and architectural features.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate customer needs and regulatory requirements into project design.
  • Prepare technical reports and tender documents.
  • Contribute to the design of components for various structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry, etc.).
  • Perform calculations using specialized software, carry out expert assessments and supervise asset maintenance work on existing buildings.
  • Participate in the management of projects, schedules and budgets, in collaboration with project managers and project directors.
  • Design technical solutions adapted to the specific challenges of each heritage project.
  • Work with local authorities and conservation organizations to obtain the necessary permits.

Qualifications

  • University degree in civil or building engineering or equivalent
  • Membre of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in building structure design and site inspection
  • Keen interest in developing skills in the design and management of heritage building projects
  • Creative, focused on solutions respecting the building’s heritage features, restoration and sustainability
  • Proficiency in ETABS, ADA and SAFE software
  • Proficiency in spoken and written french.
