Responsibilities :
Lead and conduct the inspection of existing bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures in accordance with the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM), Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and other applicable standards.
Complete daily Health and Safety documentation
Available to work flexible hours, days, nights, and weekends. Staff will be required to be away from home for periods of time.
Complete Structure deterioration mapping
Provide recommendations on bridge, culvert and retaining walls, required maintenance, repair and rehabilitation.
Daily Records Keeping a daily journal or diary for references and payment purposes.
Input data captured in the field into a database onsite.
Use of various hand tools
Care of rental vehicle
Attend and participate in team progress meetings.
Utilize AutoCAD and Civil3D to prepare structural drawings when required.
Familiar with Bridge Management software and inputting inspection data
Work within assigned projects and schedules
Qualifications :
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology / Technician engineering with strong interest and experience in Bridge Engineering Biennial Inspections
OACETT designation or eligible
P.Eng. would be an asset
4+ years of experience leading Biennial inspections
Attended the MTO 2021 Inspectors workshop.
Valid Ontario driver’s license.
Ability to perform outdoor physical duties while doing bridge inspection work.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication
Able to work in a team environment and excel in bridge inspection projects.
