Community Rehabilitation Services
Working in communities across Ontario, our Community Rehabilitation Services team treats clients who have experienced mental stress injuries and motor vehicle accidents, focusing on a return to pre‑accident function.
In the Traumatic Psychological Injury program, Occupational Therapists work with clients such as first responders who have experienced workplace trauma. They conduct in‑vivo exposure therapy and behavioural activation, facilitate trauma processing, coping and return to function, and use virtual reality interventions to promote mental health outcomes.
In the Complex Auto program, OTs assess and treat clients presenting with musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, cognitive (TBIs, concussions) and psychosocial impairments related to motor vehicle accidents. You will complete in‑home and hospital discharge assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, mental health treatment and other interventions.
