Community Connector Individual- or Family-Focus on Recreation Activities
Individual or Family Match with Newcomers to Canada with a focus on recreation activities in the community (intake completed online).
Volunteers are supported by a Community Connections Settlement Practitioner and will have access to resources to share with their matches.
Volunteers are matched with a newcomer individual or family. Match meetings can be at home or in the community.
Responsibilities
Help newcomers to Canada integrate into the Lethbridge community.Help create a more inclusive city by volunteering as a community connector with individuals or families who are new to Canada.Help newcomers adjust to life in Canada through conversation, activities, and socializing.Help by :Offering social support and promoting social inclusion.Practicing skills that help with daily activities.Supporting informal language learning by practicing conversation in English.Introducing their matches to people and places in the community.Promoting cross-cultural interactions by talking and learning about each other’s traditions.Exchanging ideas, information, and resources.Support individuals and families as they learn how to access recreation opportunities in Lethbridge.Promote well-being by offering social connection, the chance to practice conversational English, and support in accessing recreation activities for people of all ages.Requirements

Schedule
