The Greater Essex County District School Board invites applications from members of its O.S.S.T.F.- P.S.S.P. Bargaining Unit for the position of First Nations Metis and Inuit Student Support Worker - 2.0 FTE. (2 Temporary Full-Time Positions).

Job Summary :

This position is a designated visible minority position. Applicants are encouraged to Self-Identify as the FNMI Student Support Worker position is a designated position. This is a temporary full-time (35 hour per week) position that supports both elementary and secondary students.

LOCATION : Various locations

POSITION : First Nation Metis Inuit (FNMI) Student Support Worker

RATE OF PAY : $35.28 - 40.80 per hour

TERM : February 2026 to June 2026

HOURS OF WORK : 7 hours each day within the hours of 8 : 00am and 4 : 00pm

Nature & Scope of Position :

• Work closely with the Superintendent responsible for Indigenous Education and staff to support improved Indigenous student achievement and well-being.
• Liaise with FNMI community members parents / guardians organizations and educators to partner build and maintain positive relationships that result in improved confidence and student achievement for FNMI students.
• Meet with educators and support staff to develop and monitor individual student profiles which will consider the intellectual spiritual physical and emotional / social well-being of FNMI students.
• Provide direct in-classroom support to self-identified FNMI students to enhance organizational skills foster student learning and facilitate smooth transitions.
• Work with individual and small groups of self-identified FNMI students to foster a strong sense of identity and belonging.
• Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair inclusive and antiracist environment for all stakeholders and to supporting diverse constituencies and populations.
• Support all duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Justice Inclusion Equity and Diversity.
