JOB SUMMARY :

Seeking a Journeyman / woman Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic to perform services, maintenance, and repair on a wide variety of heavy equipment including excavators, tractors, backhoes, track loader, wheel loaders, skid steers, trenchers, boom trucks, hydrovacs, tractor trucks, trailers, and light trucks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Working 5 - 6 days a week, 8 - 10 hours a day.
  • Manage the maintenance program that includes the service and repair for heavy equipment (excavators, backhoes, loaders, skid steers, trenchers), vehicles, trailers, and other associated equipment (generators, man lifts, light plants, drills).
  • Provide leadership in the development of procedures for requests for repairs, prioritizing repairs, scheduling services, creating work orders, and ordering parts and supplies.
  • Coordinate rental equipment based on increased work demands.
  • Provide training to equipment operators.
  • Maintain logbook records for on and off road equipment.
  • Ensure fleet is in compliance with periodic inspections (Crane, Periodic Motor Vehicle Inspection).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and self‑start to solve problems.
  • Adapt to change in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Team Player.

    • REQUIREMENTS :

  • Certified Journeyman / woman HET - Red Seal Certification considered an asset.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a Journeyman role.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend and walk.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
