Short Intro and About the Job

As part of this position, you will be accountable for:

The Retail Development Specialist (RDS) for Danone drives in-store sales growth by executing Danone’s strategic retail plan across Saskatchewan, including major cities like Saskatoon and Regina as well as key remote towns with large stores such as Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, and others. The role requires efficient territory coverage and occasional overnight stays - about every two weeks - to ensure optimal visits beyond Saskatoon and Regina. By maximizing store coverage and fostering strong, win-win relationships, the successful candidate will expand Danone’s presence across all retail touchpoints—distribution, space, displays, on-shelf availability, and in-store activation—aligned with Danone’s retail priorities. The RDS will leverage advanced retail tools and data (., Power BI, sales platforms) to ensure compliance and identify growth opportunities. This is a dynamic sales development role with daily shopper and customer interaction.

More specifically:

  • Deliver the Danone execution strategy and plans to ensure compliance and identify sales opportunities with customers
  • Build strong mutually beneficial relationships and be able to maintain a strong business focus and shopper understanding.
  • Proactively manage and negotiate product distribution, space, visibility on display and on the shelves.
  • Interpret point of sales (POS) dollars and units’ data as well as market shares to identify opportunities
  • Negotiate merchandising tools placement and refrigerated units.
  • Conduct business reviews with customers and influence inventory management with pre-orders in store
  • Train and manage a merchandiser
  • Be creative, think outside the box and be a team player who is not afraid to share and learn from others.
  • Plan, prioritize and organize your own work and monitor progress vs target to ensure objectives are delivered on time and in full
  • Cover your territory effectively

The annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $85,000 CAD. The final salary offered will be determined by factors such as relevant experience and qualifications, internal equity and external market conditions.

About You

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:

  • University degree in business administration or another relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales representative role or relevant role
  • Great interest in the consumer goods market
  • Communication, customer focus and problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities
  • 30-40% travelling, with occasional overnight stays (approx. every two weeks)
  • Agility, positive attitude, respect for the work ethic
  • Good knowledge of sales techniques and ability to persuade with facts and figures
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Resides in the assigned territory
  • Possesses a valid driver licence
  • Bilingualism is an asset (French and English)

La ou le spécialiste du développement au détail (RDS) de Danone participe directement à la croissance des ventes en magasin en exécutant le plan stratégique de vente au détail de Danone dans toute la Saskatchewan incluant Saskatoon, Regina et des villes clés comme Prince Albert, Moose Jaw et autres. Ce rôle exige une couverture efficace du territoire et des déplacements avec nuitées environ toutes les deux semaines pour optimiser les visites hors des grands centres. En maximisant la présence en magasin et en bâtissant des relations gagnant-gagnant, la personne retenue renforcera la visibilité de Danone (distribution, espace, présentoirs, disponibilité en tablette, activations). Le ou la RDS utilisera des outils et données avancés (p. ex. Power BI, plateformes de vente) pour assurer la conformité et saisir les opportunités. Il s’agit d’un rôle dynamique impliquant des interactions quotidiennes avec les clients et consommateurs.

Fonctions principales

  • Suivre les lignes directrices d’exécution du plan stratégique de vente au détail de Danone pour assurer la conformité et cibler les occasions de ventes auprès des consommateurs.
  • Cultiver des relations mutuellement bénéfiques, savoir garder le cap sur les objectifs et aiguiser continuellement sa connaissance des consommateurs.
  • Négocier et gérer activement la distribution, la place et la visibilité accordées aux produits dans les étalages et sur les tablettes.
  • Interpréter les données des ventes (POS) et des unités, de même que les parts de marché, pour cerner les occasions.
  • Négocier le placement des outils de marchandisage et des unités réfrigérées.
  • Effectuer des revues d’affaires avec les clients et influencer la gestion des stocks en proposant des précommandes en magasin.
  • Former et gérer un responsable de la mise en marché.
  • Faire preuve de créativité, sortir des sentiers battus et travailler en équipe sans avoir peur de transmettre ses connaissances et d’apprendre des autres.
  • Planifier et organiser son propre travail en établissant ses priorités; suivre sa progression en temps réel pour mieux atteindre l’entièreté des objectifs dans les délais.
  • Couvrir efficacement le territoire assigné.

La fourchette de salaire annuel de base pour ce poste est de 60,000 $ à 85,000 $ CA. Le salaire final offert sera déterminé en fonction de facteurs tels que l’expérience pertinente et les qualifications, l’équité interne et les conditions du marché externe.

About You

Formation et compétences recherchées

  • Diplôme universitaire en administration ou dans un autre domaine pertinent
  • Au moins deux ans d’expérience dans un poste de représentant des ventes ou un autre poste pertinent
  • Grand intérêt pour le marché des produits de consommation
  • Orientation client et talent pour la communication et la résolution de problèmes
  • Capacité à travailler de manière indépendante et à gérer le temps et les priorités
  • 30 à 40 % de déplacements, avec des nuitées occasionnelles (environ toutes les deux semaines).
  • Flexibilité, attitude positive et respect de l’intégrité
