Production Manager – Night Shift

Overview : Our client, an established manufacturer with a multi‑shift operation, is seeking a Production Manager to lead and optimize night‑shift performance. The role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable production while supporting a high‑performing team and driving continuous improvement across the shift.
The Role
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to prioritize equipment repairs and preventive maintenance needs.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and support audits when required.
- Lead night‑shift production activities, including staffing, labour allocation, overtime management, and equipment readiness.
- Oversee production monitoring to ensure targets, schedules, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Maintain and reinforce Health & Safety policies, procedures, and compliance expectations.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives; ensure proper completion of orientation, job‑specific training, and performance documentation.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisors and lead hands regarding safety, employee relations, training, performance management, and workflow execution.
- Recommend, coordinate, and implement process improvements focused on safety, efficiency, and operational reliability.
- Prepare shift KPI reports and contribute to broader continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Participate in cross‑functional problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and improvement events.
- Strengthen communication channels between frontline employees and leadership to maintain transparency, engagement, and alignment.
- Ensure all staff receive appropriate skills development, support, and corrective guidance where required.
The Ideal Candidate
Minimum 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience leading production teams.Strong communication abilities with a steady, confident leadership style.Proven track record managing performance, improving processes, and achieving throughput targets, KPI tracking, reporting, and performance metrics.Solid planning, organizational, and decision‑making capabilities.Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and build high‑performing teams.Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement tools, or related methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).Ability to analyze complex production issues and support root‑cause problem‑solving.Post‑secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or a related field is preferred.Technical, mechanical, or engineering aptitude is considered an advantage.Experience working in a fast‑paced, multi‑line or multi‑shift manufacturing environment.Comfort working cross‑functionally with maintenance, quality, and logistics teams.#J-18808-Ljbffr
