Job Summary
This position assists in the creation of strategic and tactical plans for the facility they are assigned. He / She supports and enhances the sortation, methods, and measurement for the automated sites they supervise.
This position assists to develop and manage corporate, region, and district level peak season and other special operating plan volume guidance to provide accurate planning for staffing, equipment planning, and capacity needs.
He / She develops several forecasting methodologies and internal metrics to identify areas of improvement that have a high impact on the forecast process.
He / She acts as a liaison to make sure partner functions (i.e., Corporate Cross- functional Automation Group CCAG , Operations, Plant Engineering, Industrial Engineering IE , and Information Systems / Technology Support Group / ASX / ATC) are aware of, and in agreement with, any changes to the automated systems.
This position supervises the deployment of new technologies and communicates changes made to their automated facility.
Responsibilities :
- Oversees automation upgrades and deployment.
- Supervises, improves, and communicates forecast development process.
- Prepares and monitors planning results.
- Assesses impacts of new services, software, and methods on operations.
- Supervises issues, enhancements, and requests for sortation.
- Monitors site's operating performance.
- Investigates facility automation feasibility.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field - Preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of UPS processes, procedures, and methods
Work hours :
Start time between 3 : 45am and 4 : 15 until 1 pm (start and finish times may vary depending on work volume)
