Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company. We are focused on long-term growth through an aggressive exploration, development, production, and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
We are currently looking for a Contract Field Operator in our Fort St John location.
PRIMARY FOCUS
The Field Operator has full working knowledge in all aspects of sour field operating activities and provide recommendations for performance improvement, as well as plan and coordinate the work of contract or maintenance crews.
This is a camp-based position, 15 x 13 shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following duties but not be limited to :
Report directly to the field rover or Lead Operator.
- Regulatory and compliancy checks and inspections.
- Operation and routine maintenance of wells, flow lines and pumping equipment.
- Accessing remote locations to check wells, maintaining normal operating levels, pressures, and flow on separation equipment, making adjustments to automatic and manual controls.
- Monitoring and general maintenance of pipeline gathering systems, production wells.
- Contribute to accurate production records and production well testing.
- Completes projects and reports on completed projects.
- Responsible for the optimization of work processes and production.
- Accountable for working safely within environmental regulation and company guidelines.
- Assists with planning construction projects.
- Provides co-ordination and assistance to other field and facility operators as needed.
- Maintaining chemical injection rates; start up and shut-in wells.
- Entering well tests, downtime and injection information into a computer database.
- Monitoring and optimizing production and costs within area of control.
- Works with minimum supervision
- Maintain a good status in Complyworks and CMDS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum five (5) years of oil and gas operating experience; preferably with oil and gas producing properties.
- Demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating all operational aspects.
- Experienced in down-hole and surface production equipment.
- A valid driver’s license is required (copy of valid driver’s license and Driver’s Abstract required).
- Demonstrated solid technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Mechanical aptitude with excellent people, organizational and communication skills.
- Energetic and self-motivated team player.
- Working level computer skills.
- Completion of required safety and technical courses (H2S, First Aid, WHMIS and TDG).
- Production Field / Gas Process Operations training would be preferred.
- Experience in production monitoring and reporting systems (Cygnet, Scada, Prodview, etc.)
- Complete understanding of overall field production operations.
- Possess excellent people skills.
- Physical work is required such as lifting, ladder climbing, working at heights
- Able to work in seasonal weather conditions
