Job descriptionWork safely and never compromise on safety in all aspects of daily work Receive, review, verify, and process invoices accurately and timely Troubleshoot complex or escalated issues related to invoices or payments Resolve discrepancies between invoices, POs, and receipts Prepare, prioritize, and process weekly, biweekly, or ad hoc payment runs Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes and assist in implementing new systems Manage vendor relationships – set up and maintain details in ERP, develop strong relationships, and respond professionally to inquiries Process confidential or sensitive materials with professionalism and discretion Understand Forbes expense coding to identify transactional errors Assist in regulatory audits and annual audit process Perform other accounts payable related functions as assigned Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance (required) Minimum of four to six years of related accounting experience handling a high volume of complex invoices (required) Knowledge of accounting principles and computerized accounting systems (required) Experience in the construction industry is an asset Experience or exposure working with foreign currencies is an asset Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, IF Functions) (required) Knowledge of Viewpoint / Trimble systems is an asset Maintains professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong time management and organizational skills Able and willing to work extended hours as required to meet deadlines (required)

Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist (full-time, permanent) to support the Finance department based out of our Edmonton, AB location. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, ability to identify and resolve discrepancies, promote safety culture, and adhere to all laws and internal controls while maintaining high professionalism.
