Job Opportunity : Sales Representative
Overview
An established, growth-oriented food distribution company is seeking a Sales Representative to manage and expand an existing portfolio of customer accounts while developing new business across British Columbia.
This role is well suited to a sales professional who is organized, commercially minded, and comfortable working primarily from an office environment. The position balances relationship management with forecasting, planning, and close coordination with internal teams. The focus is on account management, preselling, and disciplined execution rather than transactional selling.
You will be responsible for selling imported food products, primarily protein categories such as beef, pork, and seafood, into foodservice distributors, specialty wholesalers, and processors. Sales are typically pallet-level or full-load volumes, requiring a relationship-driven approach, strong attention to detail, and consistent communication across internal departments.

Some of what you will do in this role includes :
- Managing and growing an established customer portfolio with meaningful annual revenue
- Developing new business with foodservice distributors, specialty wholesalers, and processors across British Columbia
- Collaborating closely with purchasing to forecast demand, presell incoming inventory, and manage inventory risk
- Planning customer activity and maintaining visibility on opportunities, commitments, and timelines
- Building strong customer relationships through regular in-person visits and proactive communication
- Developing product knowledge across protein categories including beef, pork, and seafood
- Providing market feedback related to pricing, demand trends, and competitive activity
- Representing the organization at trade shows and occasional supplier visits
Work Location & Travel
This is an office-based role located in the Lower MainlandExpected to work in-office 4–5 days per week, this role is not remote or work-from-homeRegular customer visits are expected on a monthly or quarterly basisTravel is primarily within the Lower Mainland, with occasional trips to the BC Interior or Vancouver IslandYou should have the following in your background to be successful :
5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in foodservice, wholesale, or a related industryStrong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritiesComfort working with systems and internal tools to track activity, forecasts, and commitmentsA level-headed, reliable approach and the ability to perform effectively under pressureA relationship-focused mindset with practical commercial judgmentAbility to create and maintain personal structure without constant directionWillingness to learn perishable products and industry practicesValid driver’s license and reliable vehicleWillingness to travel within British ColumbiaExperience selling to foodservice distributors or similar customers is considered an assetFamiliarity with protein categories or perishable food distribution is an assetExperience forecasting demand, preselling inventory, and working with ERP systems is an assetWhat’s in it for me?
